Ukrainian, Polish, Portuguese & Russian
Olena guides fluently in Ukrainian, Polish, Portuguese and Russian. For Ukrainian, Polish and Russian-speaking visitors this is rare — most guides on the island work only in English or Portuguese.
Local knowledge
Not a script learned from a handbook. Olena has lived on Madeira and guided for years — the restaurant, the viewpoint, the beach that no tour bus stops at. That's the difference.
Frequently asked questions
Are these prices per person or per group?
Per group, up to 4 people. So if you're a couple, you pay €250 total for the full day JOURNEY — not €250 each. For groups of 5 or more, write to discuss.
What if I need to cancel?
Cancel free up to 24 hours before the tour. No penalty, no deposit lost — there is no deposit. Write on WhatsApp and we'll reschedule or cancel with no issue.
Is lunch included?
Not in the price — but Olena recommends and accompanies you to a restaurant chosen for where you are that day. She knows which places are actually good (and which exist only for tourists).
Can I add a levada walk to the JOURNEY tour?
Yes — that's essentially what the DAY tour is. Both full days cost the same — €250 per group. The DAY tour simply builds the route around a guided levada walk, so the day is structured differently.
Do you pick up from outside Funchal?
For hotels in the greater Funchal area — yes, included. For accommodation in the north of the island or other areas, write to confirm — usually possible with a small adjustment.
Do I have to pay for hiking trails in Madeira?
Yes. Since 2026 the official PR trails charge a fee: usually €4.50 per person, and €10.50 for the famous PR1 (Pico do Areeiro to Pico Ruivo). You must book a time slot in advance on the government portal SIMplifica. Children under 12 and Madeira residents do not pay but still need to register. The fee is not part of the tour price — Olena will tell you which slot to book for your route.
What should I bring on the tour?
Comfortable shoes with good grip, a light waterproof jacket and a warm layer (the mountains can be 10 degrees colder than Funchal), water, sunscreen and a hat. For levadas with tunnels, a head torch.
